CONCRETE KNIVES (FRA) Alternative Indie
Some may see them as the worthy heirs to the B-52s, while others will find in their music a flavour of the early naughties New York music scene.Fronted by both male and female leads, with strong and distinctive vocal style, Concrete Knives is an anthem machine for you to chant to in unison.Their compositions dusted off Dad’s vinyl records, incorporating new tones where vintage keyboards and organs fly through syncopated rhythm sections. This is indeed fresh music, carrying clean and well balanced textures. This is the scraping of a knife on concrete, a creative rupture wholly aroused by an exciting and innovative new band. On stage, Concrete Knives resuscitate the ghosts of the eighties with great energy, creating an inventive mixture of sunny pop. Concrete Knives come to the UK in Janauary 2012 and release an EP. Already John Kennedy (XFM), Steve Lamacq (BBC6), Rob Da Bank (BBC R1), Jim Gellatly and Charlie Ashcroft (Amazing Radio) have all supported the EP at radio so far!
MY GOLD MASK (USA) Alternative Indie
The Chicago duo, a collaboration between drummer/vocalist Gretta Rochelle and guitarist Jack
Armondo seeped into to the consciousness of Chicago’s music scene last year with Windy City mash-up duo the Hood Internet offered up a glorious treatment of the band’s “Bitches,” splicing it with some vintage Roxy Music and turning into a perfect tag team.
“the bottled lightning of “Violet Eyes” makes My Gold Mask a band to watch…” Pitchfork
“…It’s only a matter of time before people fall head over heels for their spooky racket.” – Time Out Chicago
“My Gold Mask gets mega sounds and emotion out of two instruments, their tense guitar whorls and crackling warbles perfect for this rainy morning” – Fader

RIVERHART (UK) Alternative Folk
Riverhart is Alexander Gill, much more than a traditional singer songwriter, but an alluring troubadour entwining the ambient dream-pop landscapes of contemporaries such as Beach House, and the time-honoured influence of British institutions The Smiths, with the more visceral folk visions akin to
Nick Drake & Neil Young. He began writing on Christmas Day. Harbouring ambitions of genuine connection by virtue of music, he aims to create an expansive narrative in his songs of life, and in the process relinquish the solemn mundane reality of middle-class youth. Under the guidance of producer James Ewers, he has worked tirelessly to create a slice of introductory triumph in the ‘Ghost Dance EP’, which he has begun to tentatively cast out into the world.
