Charting an arrow-like line straight back through the mod rock soul identity of a whole nation, White Sunday represent their own brand of pure, heartfelt, and honest to goodness rock n roll wonder.
Hailing from Reading, White Sunday have played main support to the likes of the mighty Kasabian and Ocean Colour Scene, and enjoyed rapturous tents at Guilfest & Reading Festival; the latter being subject to an onsite interview with ITV and “One To Watch” in the London Metro newspaper.
Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman selected their debut single “90s Hangover” to launch her website in 2008 and the track also gained support from XFM’s Clint Boon, world famous Rodney Bingenheimer’s show on LA station KROQ, and stations around Europe. The band have featured on Huw Stephens Radio 1 as well as a 30minute live session and interview with national Radio Talksport.
Look magazine hailed the May 19th single as “Edith Bowman’s favourite tune….pure indie rock for the masses”, as it reached No3 in the indiestore chart and was also on the covermount for Ipod User magazine in the same month.
The September scheduled (Universal distributed) debut album ‘Why Do I Still Do This Everyday?’ has been produced by Dave Allen and Mark Ralph, who have previously worked with The Charlatans, The Cure, Massive Attack and features the brilliant song writing talents of Jim Glanville and Mike Walton. Having gone on two 20-date national tours in Feb and May, White Sunday play a host of dates across the UK in September onwards.
